Position Summary
As a Medical Records Clerk, you'll be responsible for maintaining and organizing patient health records while ensuring compliance with confidentiality and documentation standards. You'll work closely with healthcare staff and facility leadership, supporting patient care and operations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, organize, and update patient medical records, logs, and health information systems to ensure accuracy and accessibility
- Ensure the confidentiality, security, and proper release of medical information in accordance with HIPAA and facility policies
- Retrieve, file, and manage clinical documentation, including laboratory reports, consultation reports, and other healthcare records
- Support healthcare operations through appointment tracking, report preparation, record management, and administrative support activities
- Aid in compliance initiatives, statistical reporting, record retention requirements, and continuous improvement of medical records processes
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous medical records, healthcare administration, or clerical experience preferred
Qualifications
- Current CPR certification
