About the Role
The Medical Receptionist (Patient Services Coordinator) plays a key role in patient interactions, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to UVVC’s high standards of care and service.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients upon arrival, sign them in, and obtain insurance information and other necessary data.
- Provide patients with intake and new patient forms, office policies, and legally required documents.
- Process payments from patients for co-pays and uninsured visits.
- Schedule appointments for new and recurring patients based on provided schedule guidelines.
- Maintain hard copy patient records and files stored in our EMR system.
- Audit schedules to ensure patient insurance eligibility.
- Provide patients with support and guidance as needed.

- Maintain the confidentiality and security of Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with UVVC policies, HIPAA, and other applicable laws and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in a medical setting in customer service.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
- Familiarity with ECW (eClinicalWorks) is a plus.
- Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks based on importance.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and desktop publishing software.
