Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
- Answer incoming phone calls, direct inquiries, and take accurate messages.
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments.
- Register new patients and update existing patient records.
- Verify insurance information and obtain necessary documentation.
- Collect copayments, process payments, and assist with basic billing inquiries.
- Maintain patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA and privacy regulations.
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails, faxes, and mail.
- Keep the reception area clean, organized, and welcoming.
- Perform administrative duties such as filing, scanning, data entry, and record management.
- Cookordinate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to support quality patient care.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous receptionist, customer service, or healthcare office experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification processes is a plus.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems, scheduling software, and Microsoft Office applications is desired.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills are essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities are required.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times is crucial.
