About the role
A TH Medical Radiographer III at Stony Brook Medicine provides clinical services to our patient population, delivering superior patient care with outstanding communication skills while upholding the department’s high standard of excellence.
Responsibilities
- Produce diagnostic exams and position and transfer patients
- Provide immobilization devices and select proper technical factors on an individual patient basis
- Select and operate equipment
- Ensure protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards
- Assist physicians in administering opaque media
- Delegate areas of authority in the performance of routine or special procedures
- Provide specific areas of instruction in the school of technology and to ancillary personnel
- Act as acting supervisor in the absence of a supervisor or senior technologist
- Assist in performing first aid as necessary; practice sterile techniques and prevent cross-contamination
- Conduct periodic quality control tests and participate or conduct research in the required specialty
- Teach radiology students or appropriate hospital personnel established procedures and equipment operation in accordance with departmental guidelines and teaching objectives
Requirements
- Graduate of a Diagnostic Radiology Program
- NYS DOH license in Radiology Technology
- ARRT Certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Preferred
- Hospital experience
- IV Contrast Injection Certification
