The Radiology Department at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Needham (BID Needham) offers a wide array of personalized services for patients, with short wait times and a focus on accommodating patient needs. As a community hospital, our staff provides a personal touch not always found at larger institutions. Our radiologists are members of the medical staff of both BID Needham and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) in Boston.

This per diem position requires a high level of technical and informatics knowledge, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and close cooperation with physicians, nurses, and other technical staff. The role involves performing a wide variety of specialized duties and procedures on inpatients and outpatients under physician orders, using independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Follow departmental guidelines and protocols in performing all procedures in diagnostic radiology, adhering to Infection Control policies.
• Adhere to departmental guidelines for scheduling, documenting exams, and maintaining accurate and complete records of performed examinations.
• Perform quality control on all equipment according to standard procedures.
• Greet patients by appropriate title, provide education relevant to the exam, and ensure a complete medical record is available to the Radiologist.
• Demonstrate competency in radiographic and fluoroscopic imaging for inpatients, outpatients, ED patients, and in surgical settings.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Radiology preferred.
• Current Massachusetts Radiologic Technologist license (MARadTech-Radiography) required.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification required. New graduates must achieve ARRT certification within 6 months.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• 0-1 years of related work experience required.
• Experience with computer systems, including web-based applications and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Access).
• Minimum of 1 year of diagnostic radiology experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience and knowledge with PACS and CR technology.

Physical Demands

This role involves heavy work, exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 50 pounds of force frequently. Work is physically demanding, requiring extended periods of standing and/or moving.

Pay

The base hourly wage range for this position is $35.00 - $52.01. Actual compensation is determined based on factors such as seniority, education, training, relevant experience, certifications, geography, job responsibilities, and other applicable factors. Compensation may exceed the base rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime, and other additional pay practices.
