Description
We are seeking a full-time Board Certified/Board Eligible Medical Physicist to join our dynamic team at St. Luke's Cancer Institute in Boise, Idaho. Requirements
- Master’s degree in Medical Physics or a related field
- 2 years of experience in radiation oncology physics settings or completion of a CAMPEP accredited residency
- Certification in Therapeutic Radiological Physics (TRP) or Therapeutic Medical Physics (TMP) by the ABR or ABMP
Qualifications
- Ensures all treatment machines and radiation sources are correctly calibrated according to accepted protocols
- Maintains radiation safety requirements in collaboration with the hospital Radiation Safety Officer
- Develops and maintains a Quality Assurance (QA) program
- Establishes treatment planning and dose calculation procedures and ensures their accuracy
- Oversight of treatment planning and radiation dose distributions in patients undergoing treatment
- Ensures policies and procedures adhere to good radiation oncology practices, delivery of treatment, radiation safety, quality control, and regulatory compliance
- Performs regular maintenance and repairs on treatment machines and documents any alterations
