About the role
The Illinois Public Risk Fund, managed by CCMSI, is seeking a Medical Only Clerk Team Supervisor to join their dedicated claims team. Reporting from Lisle, IL (with a hybrid schedule after training), this position offers a competitive salary range of $70,000 - $90,000.
Responsibilities
- Review, assign, and supervise all claim activity for designated claims to ensure compliance with Corporate Claim Standards, client specific handling instructions, and applicable laws.
- Investigate, evaluate, and adjust assigned claims in accordance with established claim handling standards and laws.
- Establish and/or oversee reserves for designated claims within established reserve authority levels.
- Provide oversight of medical, damage estimates, and miscellaneous invoices to determine if they are reasonable and related to designated claims.
- Negotiate any disputed bills or invoices for resolution.
- Authorize and make payments of claims in accordance with claim procedures utilizing a claim payment program in accordance with industry standards and within established payment authority.
- Supervise all claim activity for specified accounts.
- Comply with Corporate Claim Handling Standards and special client handling instructions as established.
- Sort daily mail; remove priority mail and checks for immediate action.
- Process incoming checks.
- Work with Treasury funding and Treasury check printing.
- Conduct performance appraisals and objective/goal setting and attainment of claim and support staff.
- Conduct monthly check audit.

- Knowledge of all lower level claim position responsibilities.
- Detail oriented and a self-starter with strong organizational abilities.
- Able to coordinate and prioritize required tasks.
- Flexibility, accuracy, initiative, and the ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Discretion and confidentiality required.
- Reliable, predictable attendance within client service hours for the performance of this position.
- Responsive to internal and external client needs.
Education and/or Experience
- 5+ years claim experience is required.
- Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
- Three years supervisory experience preferred.
Nice to have
- Bilingual (Spanish) proficiency — highly valued for communicating with claimants, employers, or vendors, but not required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
