Medical Office Specialist -Float

The Business Office Specialist - Float position at Mountain West Surgery Center requires 2+ years of experience in a medical office setting, preferably in an ambulatory setting. This role involves rotating to different ambulatory surgery centers, providing front desk coverage and assisting the Central Business Office with various duties such as billing, chart preparation, cash posting, collections, insurance verification, medical records, patient registration, and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Handle various business office duties including billing, chart preparation, cash posting, collections, insurance verification, medical records, patient registration, and scheduling
• Rotate to other ambulatory surgery center facilities - mileage will be reimbursed
• Perform and document insurance pre-certification, verification, and interviews for patients prior to surgery
• Identify and correct coding or billing problems from Explanation of Benefits (EOBs)
• Prepare accounts for rebilling
• Filing secondary insurance and sending to the designated carrier with proper documentation
• Schedule patient surgical procedures and maintain the surgery schedule

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical office setting, preferably in an ambulatory setting
