About the role
The Medical Office Coordinator/Certified Medical Assistant (MOC/CMA) will provide administrative and medical assistant support at our Annapolis location, with occasional travel to sister sites.
Responsibilities
- Schedule new and follow-up clinic appointments using EPIC.
- Cancel and reschedule provider clinics.
- Collect insurance information for registration and pre-authorization.
- Initiate courtesy calls as requested by providers.
- Support physicians by handling voicemail, referrals, follow-up calls, mailings, and updates.
- Coordinate patient consultations, diagnostics tests, or procedures.
- Order, stock, and maintain exam rooms and clinic areas with standard supplies.
- Participate in staff meetings and identify resources to validate patient care decisions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program.
- Certification/Registration as a Medical Assistant (e.g. CMA, AAMA, RMA, AMT, NAHP).
- Current CPR certification by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
- Two years of administrative experience.
Qualifications
- Must maintain MA and CPR certification/registration during employment.
- Exam fees for certification/registration will be paid by the department.
- If a retest is required, associated fees are paid by the employee.
Skills
- Epic experience preferred.
