Duties and Responsibilities
- Work in all Preventive Health Divisions with priority in Women's Health.
- Aid with clinic setup and manage client flow.
- Explain clinic procedures to clients and assist with positioning, weights and measurements.
- Check vital signs and demonstrate personal hygiene.
- Assure clients understand professional diagnosis and medication instructions.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of patient care and practical nursing techniques.
- Knowledge of health and safety precautions in local health departments.
- Knowledge of dental clinic operations and protocols.
- Ability to work with staff and patients under supervision.
- Ability to maintain clerical records and compile reports.
- Ability to use sound judgment and empathy in dealing with patients.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Desired Education and Experience
- High school or GED diploma, completion of a one-year formal training course in medical office assisting at a community college or technical institute.
- Completion of a one-year formal training course in medical office assisting at a community college or technical institute, or a combination of one year of clerical and health/dental related experience.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
