Medical Office Assistant - Fayetteville
Job Summary
The Medical Office Assistant will assist physicians in examination and treatment of patients, performing a variety of delegated duties in our Division of Primary Care/Internal Medicine in our Fayetteville NY location. Also perform some clerical tasks. Duties typically include phlebotomy, preparation of treatment rooms for examination of patients, interviewing patients, measuring and recording vital signs, and cleaning and sterilizing instruments. May also inventory and order medical supplies and materials and perform routine laboratory tests. Clerical duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records and completing insurance forms.

Work Days: Monday - Friday daytime hours
Responsibilities
- Assist physicians in examination and treatment of patients
- Perform delegated duties in preparation of treatment rooms for examination of patients

- Clean and sterilize instruments
- Inventory and order medical supplies and materials
- Perform routine laboratory tests
- Schedule appointments, maintain medical records, and complete insurance forms
Requirements
- Completion of an approved Medical Assistant or Medical Office Assistant program or one year experience directly related to the medical field
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills required
- Prior knowledge of medical terminology and medical office procedures
- Phlebotomy experience preferred
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Completion of an approved Medical Assistant or Medical Office Assistant program or one year experience directly related to the medical field; Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills required. Prior knowledge of medical terminology and medical office procedures
