Responsibilities
- Greet and verify patient information in the NextGen system.
- Collect and post co-pay and self-pay balances.
- Generate lab/procedure orders, pharmacy provider, and obtain complete medical history.
- Verify and update FSC and demographic information.
- Perform automated appointment scheduling.
- Maintain patients’ medical charts in paper and electronic formats.
- Accurately scan and index electronic records.
- Complete charge entry process and resolve registration and charge entry edits.
- Complete payment posting process using NextGen PM system.
- Generate no-show and missed appointment letters, dictate, sort, and distribute mail and faxes.
- Source translation services.
- Check out patients by scheduling return appointments and completing encounter forms.
- Answer, screen, and direct incoming calls, and answer basic patient-related questions.
- Comply with Billing and HIPAA regulations.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of work experience in a medical office setting.
- Experience using medical billing system preferred.
