Medical Office Assistant

About the role

In a clerical role the Medical Office Assistant is the customer service liaison to each of our practices. The Medical Office Assistant greets each patient with courtesy and respect using exceptional communication skills. The purpose of this position is to provide our patients with a seamless experience while following all UHS Policies regarding registration, scheduling, insurance verification and billing. In a clinical role the medical assistant performs patient care tasks under the direction of a licensed nurse and/or nurse practitioner, clinical nurse specialist, physician, or other authorized health care provider.

Responsibilities

• Greet each patient with courtesy and respect using exceptional communication skills.
• Provide patients with a seamless experience while following UHS policies regarding registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and billing.
• Perform patient care tasks under the direction of a licensed nurse, nurse practitioner, clinical nurse specialist, physician, or other authorized health care provider.
• Collect patient information and data.
• Interact with patients.
• Assist physicians with procedures in a medical office or hospital setting.
