About The Role
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing both patient check-in and check-out processes, supporting front desk operations, and providing leadership support to the front office team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong administrative background in healthcare and a passion for patient service and team leadership.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients and visitors, identifying and addressing their needs.
- Answer phone calls and direct inquiries appropriately.
- Enter and verify patient demographic and insurance information in the EMR system.
- Check for necessary referrals and ensure all forms are completed and signed.
- Assemble patient charts and prepare for appointments.
- Schedule appointments, procedures, x-rays, and tests as requested.
- Collect co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances.
- Confirm appointments scheduled for the next business day.
- Manage and update patient records in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Maintain an organized and professional front desk and reception area.
- Travel to other clinic sites as needed – reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license are required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in a medical office or front desk setting preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to multitask and maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel between clinic sites.
