Qualifications

  • Current State of Utah or Compact Registered Nurse License.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification within 7 days of hire.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification.
  • Must obtain ACLS certification within 90 days from date of hire and then maintain certifications.
  • Previous Critical Care or PACU related experience strongly preferred.

About the Role

You will provide acute care expertise along with excellent patient care on our Medical Observation unit. You will demonstrate clinical competency, nursing judgment, teaching skills, and a commitment to providing quality patient care. You will be part of a team that pulls together to provide a quality patient care experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct and indirect patient care in MOB Recovery Department setting.
  • Communicate with physicians/Nurse Manager/co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
  • Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
  • Perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy.
  • Revise plan of care as indicated by the patient’s response to treatment and evaluates overall plan daily for effectiveness.
  • Consult other departments as appropriate to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient’s needs.
  • Demonstrate an ability to assist physicians with procedures and performs services requiring technical and manual skills.
  • Identify and address psychosocial needs of patients and family; communicates with social service/discharge planner regarding both in hospital and post discharge needs.

Schedule

The schedule would be Thursdays and Fridays 5:30am - 6:00pm.
