Medical Laboratory Technologist (PRN) - Myrtle Beach
About the role
The Medical Laboratory Tech and Medical Laboratory Scientist at McLeod Health perform critical roles in analyzing biological samples and providing accurate laboratory test results.
Responsibilities
- Analyze biological samples and perform specimen preparation, storage, and transportation according to protocols.
- Organize and conduct specimen analyses, evaluate results, and maintain quality control.
- Follow safety procedures and perform routine and pre-routine maintenance on laboratory equipment.
- Train and document proficiency of assigned employees and students as directed.
- Handle incoming calls, document requests for blood draws, and follow through on collection processes.
- Document and maintain laboratory supplies and coordinate daily technical activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness of tests.
- Assist in maintaining a positive patient care environment by following Service Excellence standards.
Qualifications
- Qualified to perform moderate and highly complex testing as defined by CLIA 88.
- Must obtain MLT/MLS certification within 6 months of hire.
- A degree in medical laboratory technology is required, either an Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
