Medical Laboratory Technician - Sendouts
Hours
This MLT will support specimen processing, testing coordination, result handling, and other technically complex responsibilities in the Send Out Department. Other duties can include performing and reporting tests of all complexity levels, as defined by CLIA, on patients of all ages.
Responsibilities
- Support specimen processing, testing coordination, result handling, and other technically complex responsibilities in the Send Out Department.
- Perform and report tests of all complexity levels, as defined by CLIA, on patients of all ages.
- Exhibit problem-solving skills of a complex nature.
- Participate in Quality Assurance, Quality Control Monitoring, instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Perform phlebotomy and specimen processing.
- Provide customer service.
Requirements
- Graduate of an associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technician or meet Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) guidelines for the complexity of laboratory testing for alternative route.
- Certified as a Medical Laboratory Technician through the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent; within one year of hire.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technician or meet Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) guidelines for the complexity of laboratory testing for alternative route.
- Licensure/Certification: Certified as a Medical Laboratory Technician through the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent; within one year of hire.
