Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Full Time

About the role

White Rock Medical Center is a community-based hospital serving Dallas, Garland, Mesquite and surrounding areas. We specialize in comprehensive medical/surgical care, bariatric, cardiology, outpatient and emergency medicine.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex laboratory tests in areas such as hematology, chemistry, microbiology, immunology, and urinalysis.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Collect, prepare, and analyze specimens following established laboratory protocols.
• Ensure accuracy and reliability of test results through strict quality control measures.
• Record and report test results to physicians and healthcare providers promptly.
• Maintain laboratory safety by adhering to OSHA, CLIA, and other regulatory standards (COLA).
• Participate in proficiency testing and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Manage inventory and ensure adequate supply of laboratory reagents and materials.
• Absorb and assist in training new staff and students as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient records and laboratory documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting preferred.
• Proficiency in laboratory information systems (LIS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) by ASCP, AMT, or equivalent preferred.
