Medical Laboratory Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform routine venipunctures and collect specimens ensuring accuracy and patient comfort
• Conduct chemical, hematological, and microbiological analyses using manual and automated techniques
• Analyze blood cell morphology and perform blood typing and compatibility testing
• Evaluate test results and communicate abnormal or critical findings promptly to healthcare providers
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
• Keep meticulous records of tests, results, and inventory, ensuring laboratory efficiency
• Participate in ongoing education to stay current with advances in laboratory technology and practices
• Collaborate closely with medical staff to support comprehensive patient care

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field from an accredited institution
• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) from a recognized certifying agency
• Current registration with the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent
• At least one year of clinical laboratory experience preferred
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in laboratory procedures
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively within a healthcare team
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
