Responsibilities
- Perform routine venipunctures and collect specimens ensuring accuracy and patient comfort
- Conduct chemical, hematological, and microbiological analyses using manual and automated techniques
- Analyze blood cell morphology and perform blood typing and compatibility testing
- Evaluate test results and communicate abnormal or critical findings promptly to healthcare providers
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
- Keep meticulous records of tests, results, and inventory, ensuring laboratory efficiency
- Participate in ongoing education to stay current with advances in laboratory technology and practices
- Collaborate closely with medical staff to support comprehensive patient care
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field from an accredited institution
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) from a recognized certifying agency
- Current registration with the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent
- At least one year of clinical laboratory experience preferred
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in laboratory procedures
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively within a healthcare team
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
