About the role
The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) will provide laboratory services to meet the needs of patients, perform diagnostic and monitoring procedures, and maintain laboratory equipment.
Responsibilities
- Performs routine and complex laboratory tests using automated and manual methods.
- Maintains and calibrates laboratory equipment according to manufacturer’s specifications and departmental protocols.
- Collaborates with healthcare providers to interpret test results and ensure accurate patient care.
- Trains new staff and assists in the education of other laboratory personnel.
- Maintains compliance with regulatory requirements and participates in quality assurance activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, or Bachelor degree in a laboratory related science (e.g., microbiology, allied health, etc.), accompanied by an Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.
- Current BLS certificate.
- Adherence to regulatory requirements including State, Federal, and accrediting body regulations.
- Three years of previous clinical laboratory experience preferred.
