About the role
The Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist Journeyman is responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of high complexity laboratory test results with minimal supervision. They perform pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical duties including specimen evaluation, data analysis, and instrument maintenance and problem resolution. They often work with acute-care and outpatient caregivers, along with other Laboratory Services staff.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science from a NAACLS-accredited MLS program
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Sciences
- 3 years of clinical laboratory experience in a moderate- and high-complexity laboratory

- National Medical Laboratory Scientist – American Society for Clinical Pathology
- National Clinical Laboratory Scientist – American Society for Clinical Pathology
- National Medical Technologist – American Society for Clinical Pathology
- National Medical Technologist – American Medical Technologists
- National Medical Laboratory Scientist – American Medical Technologist
- 1 year of experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist in a laboratory department or performing duties that meet or exceed those in the MLS I job description
