Responsibilities

• Collections blood samples
• Identifies incorrectly collected or processed samples
• Processes and stores samples
• Performs repetitive tests in the laboratory
• Recognizes and solves problems using alternatives when no pre-set criteria are available
• Confirms and verifies results through knowledge of techniques, principles, and instruments
• Correlates and interprets data based on knowledge of physical conditions affecting test results
• Establishes and monitors quality assurance programs

• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the population served in the department
