About The Job
Working hours for this role is 11pm - 7:30am, Monday - Friday with weekend rotation.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) and knowledge resource for lab.
- Prepare specimens for routine laboratory assays.
- Run laboratory assays and analysis.
- Review and verifies results to ensure data validity and interprets results.
- Apply appropriate procedural techniques related to specimen procurement and handling, instrument operation, operator maintenance, application of universal precautions and inventory monitoring.
- Perform and document quality control procedures and proficiency testing in accordance with established parameters and standards.
- Accurately enter assay results into client reports.
- Resolve validity issues and amend reports.
- Provide phlebotomy and other specimen collection.
- Ensure client turnaround times (TATs) are met.
- Fill all reagents needed and document quality control information for equipment used.
- Prepare equipment for next shift (fill reagents, run controls, etc.).
- Document and report problems to supervisor.
- Clean and stock supplies in work area.
- Enter and track client sample and result information.
- Perform maintenance procedures as directed.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and abnormal test results.
- Aid and train new technical staff.
- Aid in the development of new procedures and protocols to improve efficiency of department.
- Act as a resource for the department, other departments, other labs, and client inquiries.
- Manage the department in the absence of the supervisor.
Minimal Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience: Two years previous Medical Technologist experience in comparable clinical laboratory setting, required. Two years experience with chemistry, hematology, blood bank and micro set-up experience, preferred.
- Licenses and Certifications: Certified Medical Lab Scientist-ASCP, preferred.

Pay
This position has a hiring range of USD $35.68 - USD $64.71 /Hr.
