Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLT, MLS)

About the Role

Performs, interprets, and correlates clinical laboratory tests by following protocols to assist in physician diagnosis and treatment of illness and disease. Expected to utilize complex problem-solving skills in resolving clinical and instrument problems.

Responsibilities

• Perform, interpret, and correlate clinical laboratory tests following established protocols.
• Assist in physician diagnosis and treatment of illness and disease.
• Utilize complex problem-solving skills to resolve clinical and instrument issues.
• Adopt H3W Leadership behaviors and act as a strong H3W ambassador.
• Comply with OSHA and applicable regulatory requirements to maintain a safe laboratory environment and meet accreditation standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college/university with 16 semester hours (24 quarter hours) in biology, including one semester in microbiology, and 16 semester hours (24 quarter hours) in chemistry, including one semester in organic or biochemistry. These credits may be obtained within or in addition to the Bachelor’s degree.
• Certified or eligible for categorical certification in medical technology by a recognized certifying body after one year of on-the-job experience.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal, written, and listening), and leadership abilities.
