Medical Laboratory Scientist - MLS/MLT

About the role

Performs analysis of blood, urine, stool and body fluids. Evaluates reports on the basis of the clinical and analytical conditions.

Responsibilities

• Collects appropriate specimen samples as required.
• Ensures specimen identification is accurate when aliquoting specimens and resulting tests.
• Demonstrates competency in performance of analytical laboratory tests on blood, urine, and other boy fluids or specimens according to laboratory policy.
• Evaluates test results in light of the patient’s clinical condition and analytical testing conditions according to laboratory policy.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Scientist (Medical Technology) or related discipline.
• Registry or Certification by professional organization such as the ASCP or equivalent is required.
• Continuation of employment is contingent on passing of ASCP or equivalent within 18 months of hire.
• Ability to read, speak and write English effectively.
