About the role

Trinity Health Shelby is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to join their laboratory team. Qualified Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLTs) will also be considered based on experience, certification, and organizational policy.

Location

Shelby, MI (Oceana County)

Responsibilities

• Receives specimens, clarifies test requests, checks specimen integrity/labeling
• Organizes, prepares and processes specimens
• Works independently in assigned departments with the laboratory
• Performs testing, evaluates results, solves problems, documents results and communicates reports as needed
• Assists in training and orientation of new employees and students
• Performs specimen collection duties

Qualifications

• MLS (ASCP) certification or MLT (ASCP) certification
• Associates/Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry or Biology
• National Licensure as a Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technician - ASCP, AMT

Requirements

• Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing
• Languages preferred
