About the role

This role involves performing routine and complex analytical tests on human body fluids and tissues to provide accurate data to the healthcare team for optimal diagnosis and treatment monitoring of disease states.

• Analyze, review, and report testing results
• Recognize when corrective action is needed and implement effective solutions
• Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with biological and chemical hazards
• Champion safety, compliance, and quality control

This role will provide routine access to protected health information (PHI). Employees will be trained on reasonable safeguards and are expected to maintain strict confidentiality and abide by all applicable privacy and security standards. Access to PHI is limited to what is required to fulfill job duties.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or an Associate's degree as a Medical Laboratory Technician
• Current and active national certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), formerly known as MT/CLS, or from American Medical Technologist (AMT) as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
• Valid and current State of Hawaii license as a Medical Technologist (MLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), or in the process of obtaining the license
• Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
• Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to telephones, computers, automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, manual and automated pipettes, and audible alarms

Qualifications

Bonus points if you’ve got:

• 2+ years of laboratory experience in a hospital/commercial lab setting
• Hawaii state licensure of Clinical Laboratory Personnel

Pay

• MLT Base pay rate: $25.44–$27.98 hourly (shift differential eligible)
• MLS Base pay rate: $34.50–$37.95 hourly (shift differential eligible)
• Sign-on bonus/relocation available
