MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENTIST - LABORATORY
About the role
The Medical Laboratory Scientist at Aspirus Hospital in Stanley, WI and Chippewa Falls, WI will share time between both facilities. This role requires performing various chemical, bacteriological, serological, hematological, and microscopic procedures in the Central Clinical Laboratory, exercising independent judgment and interpretation.
Responsibilities
- Performing chemical, bacteriological, serological, hematological, and microscopic procedures in the Central Clinical Laboratory
- Exercising independent judgment and interpretation in laboratory procedures
- Meeting the qualifications necessary to perform high complexity testing as defined by CLIA 88
Requirements
- Knowledge of laboratory standards and practices acquired through completion of an associate or bachelor's degree in laboratory science
- Previous applicable experience beneficial
- Possesses active Medical Technology (MT-ASCP), Medical Lab Technician (MLT-ASCP) or CLS-NCA certification or attains within 6 months of hire
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in laboratory science
- Active Medical Technology (MT-ASCP), Medical Lab Technician (MLT-ASCP) or CLS-NCA certification
Skills
- Independent judgment and interpretation in laboratory procedures
- High complexity testing as defined by CLIA 88

Pay
.9 FTE/72 hours every two weeks. PM shifts at Aspirus Chippewa Falls, and day/PM shifts at Aspirus Stanley mainly Monday-Friday with weekend coverage as needed.
