Medical Laboratory Scientist ASCP - AS NEEDED

About the role

Join our Laboratory Services team and play a key role in delivering high-quality diagnostic results that physicians and patients rely on every day.

Responsibilities

• Perform authorized moderate and high-complexity laboratory testing in accordance with CLIA regulations
• Execute testing accurately and efficiently following established laboratory and hospital procedures
• Handle specimens, analyze results, and ensure accurate reporting and documentation
• Perform and document quality control activities, calibrations, maintenance, and proficiency testing
• Identify testing issues, troubleshoot problems, and take corrective action or escalate as needed
• Demonstrate consistent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
• Communicate clearly and professionally with laboratory leadership and team members
• Work independently with minimal supervision and make sound decisions when leadership is unavailable
• Adhere to all safety protocols and promote a safe, compliant laboratory environment

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree and successful completion of a Medical Technology program which is accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA), or equivalent training, education, and experience in the military.
• Experience: Minimum of one year of full-time clinical laboratory experience.
• Certification: ASCP, AMT, or equivalent nationally recognized Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technologist certification required.

Skills & Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of laboratory instrumentation and testing methodologies
• Experience with LIS and basic computer applications
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
