Medical Lab Technologist (ASCP)

Responsibilities

• Perform complex analysis of all body fluids and tissues.
• Determine the reliability of all analytic data before releasing as patient measurements for diagnosis and treatment.
• Interpret information to make judgmental decisions and troubleshoot technical procedures and instruments.
• Utilize knowledge of medical correlations, laboratory parameters, physiologic factors, medication effects, and specific medical treatments to assess the validity of laboratory data.
• Utilize appropriate testing techniques to evaluate new testing methodologies and practices.
• Demonstrate safety and infection control practices.
• Aid in gathering test data for evaluation of new methods and installation of equipment.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Applied Sciences (Required)
• ASCP - American Society for Clinical Pathology - American Society for Clinical Pathology, MLT - Medical Laboratory Technologist Certification - American Society for Clinical Pathology

Qualifications

• Experience followed by successful completion of the Board of Registry examination of the American Society for Clinical Pathologists.
• Continuing Education and Competencies.
• Maintain competencies, mandatory educational requirements (ACE).
