Location: UF Health Spanish Plaines Hospital, 1451 El Camino Real, The Villages, FL 32159

Schedule: 8:00 pm – 6:30 am / Variable including weekends

Responsibilities

• Perform skin punctures to obtain blood specimens for laboratory testing.
• Promptly and accurately process test requisitions, charge, register, and order tests for outpatients, and inform technicians of STAT and other timed or urgent testing.
• Telephone patients, physicians, and nursing units when required.
• Maintain neat and organized collection trays, collection areas, and work areas.
• Demonstrate logical, professional behavior under demanding and stressful conditions.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required.
• Preferred certification: Phlebotomy Certification (National Phlebotomy Certification preferred).
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
