Responsibilities

• Perform skin punctures to obtain blood specimens for laboratory testing.
• Prompt, accurate processing of test requisitions, accurate charging, registering, and ordering tests for outpatients.
• Inform techs of stats and other timed or urgent testing.
• Telephone patients, physicians, and nursing units when required.
• Maintain neat and organized collection trays, collection areas, and work areas.
• Demonstrate logical, professional behaviors under demanding and stressful conditions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (required).
• Phlebotomy Certification (preferred).
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
