Medical Lab Technician- Per Diem

Employment Type:Part timeShift:Rotating ShiftDescription:St. Mary Medical Center, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is looking for a Medical Lab Tech to join our team! Schedule: Pool, day shift Seeking a Lab Generalist competent in Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Coagulation and Urinalysis. Good working knowledge and application of standard laboratory practices. Must be able to work independently with good decision-making skills. Schedule includes weekend and holiday rotation.Utilizes quality control for decision making on a routine basis to establish standardsCommunicates critical values in accordance with departmental policyRecognizes abnormal results and takes appropriate action in accordance with departmental policyAccurately performs STAT and routine orders within established time limitsAdequately collects and/or processes specimensSafely performs all routine maintenance proceduresPerforms and evaluates instrument functionsRecognizes malfunctions and implements corrective actionsConsistently completes documentation of maintenance procedures and/or instrument malfunctions notifies appropriate personnelCommunicates instrumentation status to appropriate personnel including oncoming shift by utilizing Departmental Communication bookMonitors inventory levels and follows appropriate protocol for re-ordering suppliesReviews appropriate specimen logs to confirm completion of work and resolve outstanding testsDemonstrates adequate knowledge of appropriate computer functionsAssists Central Processing by receiving specimens, responding to Pneumatic tube and answering telephonesAdapts work schedule to meet emergency staffing needsPerforms other related duties as requiredQualifications:Technical School/2 Years College / Associate’s DegreeAS (MLT) with ASCP eligible or equivalentBachelor's Degree preferredWe offer a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits including:Medical, Dental, & Vision CoverageRetirement Savings ProgramPaid Time OffTuition ReimbursementFree ParkingAnd more!Our Commitment Rooted in our Mission and Core Values, we honor the dignity of every person and recognize the unique perspectives, experiences, and talents each colleague brings.
