Responsibilities
- Performs analytical tests on biological specimens, adhering to documented laboratory procedures
- Determines acceptability of specimens through visual inspections or recognizing abnormal/unusual results
- Recognizes and addresses factors affecting measurements and results according to protocols
- Maintains quality control for all testing and releases results only after meeting established ranges
- Maintains a safe and efficient work environment by performing equipment checks, cleaning work areas, monitoring temperatures, and troubleshooting laboratory equipment
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Biology, or Biochemistry from a CLIA-approved program
- Certification: MLS Medical Lab Scientist Certification or eligibility from a nationally recognized certification agency
- Experience: Completion of an externship program (preferred)
