Medical Lab Technician (MLT) - Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) - Southside Freestanding Emergency Department

Bon Secours is a faith-based and patient-focused organization dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of all individuals through exceptional patient care. The Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) plays a crucial role in ensuring patient safety and accuracy in laboratory testing.

Responsibilities

• Performs analytical tests on biological specimens in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner in compliance with documented laboratory procedures
• Determines acceptability of specimens by performing visual inspections or recognizing abnormal/unusual results
• Recognizes factors that affect measurements and results and takes the appropriate action according to protocols
• Maintains a safe and efficient work environment by performing equipment checks, cleaning work area, monitoring temperatures following hospital policies, and troubleshooting laboratory equipment
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Biology, or Biochemistry through a CLIA-approved program
• Certifications: MLS Medical Lab Scientist Certification or eligibility from a nationally recognized certification agency (preferably ASCP)
• Experience: Completion of an externship program (preferred)

• Engage with staff and patients in a professional manner

Pay

Range: Minimum $30.99, Maximum $48.04
