Get to Know Your Team: UT Health Pittsburg offers 25 private rooms, a 24-hour Level IV trauma center and Level III stroke center, surgical suites, advanced diagnostics, a sleep lab, wound healing center, swing bed care, 16 physician offices and a UT Health East Texas Olympic Center fitness facility.
Responsibilities
- Performs routine and special laboratory procedures
- Performs quality control
- Performs preventative maintenance
- Performs minor equipment repairs
- Performs inventory control
- Performs statistical compilation
- Participates in quality assurance and performance improvement tasks
- Participates in new employee training
- Participates in proficiency testing as assigned
Qualifications
- Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technician studies or a chemical, physical or biological science associates degree
- ASCP or equivalent certification (must be maintained without lapse during employment; if certification lapses, job will be downgraded to Medical Laboratory Technician (non-certified) until certification is reinstated)
- 5+ years’ of clinical laboratory experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician within a clinical laboratory
- Current knowledge of clinical laboratory techniques and principles
