Medical Lab Technician - Microbiology

We are seeking a Medical Lab Technician to join the Microbiology department, responsible for performing microbiological testing, operating laboratory instruments, and ensuring specimen quality for accurate diagnostic results. Key responsibilities include evaluating specimen acceptability, conducting routine and complex microbiological procedures, troubleshooting and maintaining laboratory equipment, preparing reagents and quality controls, and reporting test results promptly while maintaining a safe work environment. Qualifications entail an Associate's degree in Chemical, Biological, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology, with at least 3 months of clinical testing experience or an MLT degree, and a valid New York State MLT license. Proficiency with computers and laboratory information systems, the ability to pass a color blindness screening, and strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills are essential. Physical capability and flexibility for overtime and shift changes are also required. Compensation ranges from $27–$36 hourly plus shift differential.
