Responsibilities

  • Performs careful and accurate work in any technical area as assigned.
  • Performs tests within specified turnaround time for assigned area.
  • Affirms that QA guidelines are strictly adhered to before reporting any laboratory result.
  • Complies with methodologies, procedures and services in consultation with the assigned laboratory supervisor.
  • Participates in performing and documenting routine instrument maintenance as assigned.
  • Documents all necessary information in the performance of technical procedures.
  • Has appropriate training and performs blood collections from all age groups.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate degree in a science-related field with a certificate of completion from a Medical Laboratory Technician program from an accredited institution.
  • Experience: Less than one year experience is required. Six months clinical internship preferred.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Certified as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent. May be hired into this position if he/she has completed the requirements for registration but has not successfully completed the MLT exam; however, the exam must be successfully completed within 6 months subsequent to hiring.

FTE/Hours per pay period: 1.0

Schedule

Shift: Full-time, 2nd shift, Monday - Friday from 1:30 pm - 10:00 pm, for 80 hours per pay period. There is an every third weekend rotation.
