Medical Lab Technician

About the Role

Tower Health, a regional healthcare system serving communities across multiple counties in Pennsylvania, is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team. The role involves obtaining or receiving specimens, performing clinical laboratory tests by standardized procedures, conducting quality control, performing preventive maintenance, and interpreting results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits. The MLT works independently, organizing work to meet established deadlines and validating all data obtained.

Schedule

Full-Time Evening Shift, 2:30 pm–11:00 pm with weekend and holiday rotation required.

Responsibilities

• Obtain or receive specimens for clinical laboratory testing.
• Perform clinical laboratory tests using standardized procedures.
• Conduct quality control and preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment.
• Interpret test results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits.
• Work independently, organizing tasks to meet deadlines.
• Validate all data obtained from laboratory tests.

Requirements

• 2-year/Associate's Degree as a Medical Laboratory Technician.
• Relevant experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Certification or eligibility for ASCP or AMT certification.

• Proficiency in computer skills, including use and navigation of laboratory systems.
