Medical Lab Tech/ Med Tech

Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a part-time Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician to join their Laboratory/Chemo ID Department.

About the role

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures under the supervision of a licensed medical technologist or laboratory supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex laboratory tests and procedures
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of test results
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals
• May assist in the management of the Chemo ID department

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician program
• Current certification from a recognized national laboratory organization (e.g., ASCP, ASCLS)
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
• Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
