Vitalant is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Generalist dedicated to making a positive difference. Schedule

• Evenings: 2:45 PM - 11:15 PM (rotates every other weekend)
• Paid Training: 6-8 weeks, Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Training location: 875 Greentree Building 5, Pittsburgh, PA 15220

Pay

• Medical Lab Generalist: $21.63/hour - $22.38/hour
• Medical Lab Scientist I: $32.17/hour
• Medical Lab Scientist II: $35.89/hour - $37/hour
• Medical Lab Scientist III: $41.27/hour - $42.55/hour

Responsibilities

• Perform high complexity testing in immunohematology, including antibody identification, antigen typing, absorptions, elution, and cross match.
• Review and report test results, participate in investigative studies, quality control, preventative maintenance, and validations.
• Receive coaching, encouragement, and support from caring managers invested in your career and success.

Requirements

• Medical Lab Generalist:
  • Bachelor's degree in a CLIA-approved program (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Medical Science).
  • No experience required.
  • Fast-track to Medical Lab Scientist Level I in just over one year.
• Medical Lab Scientist I:
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Lab Science or MLS certification required.
  • Certification as MLS required within 6 months of employment.
• Medical Lab Scientist II:
  • MLS/BB certification required.
  • 2 years in a clinical laboratory setting required.
• Medical Lab Scientist III:
  • MLS/BB certification required.
  • SBB certification preferred.
  • 3 years lab experience with 1-year IRL required.
  • 2 years lead/charge experience required.
