Responsibilities

• Conducts medical laboratory tests, procedures, and analyses with little or no supervision.
• Prepares samples for examination.
• Uses automated equipment and specialized instrumentation.
• Performs numerous complicated tests simultaneously and accurately interprets results in a timely manner.
• Interprets results to enable clinicians to make treatment decisions.
• Multitasks and makes quick decisions under pressure.
• Requires good judgment and performance under pressure.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology from an accredited institution.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Physics or Biology may be considered if the candidate is registry eligible.
• Registry for Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP or equivalent) preferred, must be registry eligible.
• Possess language, math, and reasoning skills necessary for data analysis and scientific procedures.
• Good communication skills with the public and other hospital staff.
• Completes training in at least two rotations within the first six months of employment as required by the hospital.
• Two years of experience required.
• Willingness to work on multiple campuses as assigned.
