Responsibilities
- Conducts medical laboratory tests, procedures, and analyses with little or no supervision.
- Prepares samples for examination.
- Uses automated equipment and specialized instrumentation.
- Performs numerous complicated tests simultaneously and accurately interprets results in a timely manner.
- Interprets results to enable clinicians to make treatment decisions.
- Multitasks and makes quick decisions under pressure.
- Requires good judgment and performance under pressure.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology from an accredited institution.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Physics or Biology may be considered if the candidate is registry eligible.
- Registry for Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP or equivalent) preferred, must be registry eligible.
- Possess language, math, and reasoning skills necessary for data analysis and scientific procedures.
- Good communication skills with the public and other hospital staff.
- Completes training in at least two rotations within the first six months of employment as required by the hospital.
- Two years of experience required.
- Willingness to work on multiple campuses as assigned.
