About the role
Medical Laboratory Scientists in the Histocompatibility Laboratory support solid organ transplantation through high-complexity testing.
Responsibilities
- Performs high complexity histocompatibility testing and related functions including molecular typing, antibody monitoring, and flow cytometry.
- Executes, interprets, and analyzes tests that require a professional level of knowledge.
- Participates in on-call rotation.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors Degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science from an accredited college or university.
- Work Experience: No experience required.
- Licenses and Certifications: MLS - Medical Lab Scientist (Formally MT Certification) certification by ASCP (or equivalent organization) within 1-1/2 years required, or ABHI - American Board of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics Histocompatibility Technologist certification by ABHI within 1-1/2 years required.
