Job Summary
The HLA Laboratory Scientist/UKHC will perform laboratory testing in a fast-paced academic medical center. This position analyzes and reports results of high complexity tests in the Immuno-Molecular Pathology Laboratory, serving hematology/oncology divisions and other healthcare units.
Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory testing and analysis on patient specimens
- Report test results accurately and promptly
- Provide referral services to other institutions
- Organize and prioritize work assignments independently
- Handle specimen handling and complex testing tasks
- Ensure compliance with laboratory standards and regulations
Requirements
- BS in a relevant field
- Three or more years of clinical laboratory experience preferred
- Knowledge of hematology, immunology, and/or blood banking
Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and multitask
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Excellent attention to detail and customer service skills
- Basic computer skills

Schedule
The lab operates 24 hours, 5 days a week. Shifts include 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts, with required weekend on-call duties.
