Medical Insurance Claims Specialist

Job Summary

Candidates must live in the greater Salt Lake City, UT area in order to be considered. A 90-day on-site training period is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum (1) year of experience in a medical office setting, such as an ambulatory surgery center, hospital, or doctors' office, highly preferred.
• Knowledge of managed care payers and medical terminology is preferred.

What You Will Do

• Perform follow up activities on accounts to ensure prompt payment.
• Identify potential coding or billing errors from EOBs to work to resolve.
• Monitor insurance claims and contact insurance companies to resolve claims.
• Update the patient account record to identify actions taken.
• Identify accounts to be placed with the collection agency when applicable.
• Administer contracts in obtaining correct reimbursement.
• Propose payment plans on patient balances according to policy.

Qualifications

• Must maintain accounts receivable goals to reduce bad debt.
