Medical Education Specialist
About the Role
The Medical Education Specialist assists in the development and coordination of elements related to the Office of Medical Education at Xavier University College of Osteopathic Medicine (XUCOM), a Catholic University in the Jesuit tradition. This 12-month position supports the first-year DO pre-clinical curriculum and the Master of Arts in Biomedical Science curriculum, beginning in late summer/early fall 2026.
The role involves supporting faculty classroom instruction and testing, including compiling and formatting exams, administering exams, maintaining accurate grades, posting teaching materials to Canvas courses, and administering class assessments. The specialist works closely with the Associate Dean for Curricular Assessment and Quality and reports to the Director of Medical Education, with significant interaction with students and faculty.
Responsibilities
- Interact with students, faculty, colleagues, and administration to support student learning within the College of Osteopathic Medicine.
- Assist with assessment-related efforts, including the creation and management of course and faculty evaluations, and updating curriculum maps.
- Support information collection and flow for the learning management system (Canvas) and assessment management systems.
- Support data entry and ground-level assessment information and processing for the Associate Deans.
- Maintain confidentiality and attention to detail.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Experience working in higher education is preferred.
- Excellent writing and analytical skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with aptitude to learn new software and systems.
- Amicable, professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills.
