Medical Director, Vascular Surgery - Remote

For our client, we are seeking a Medical Director, Vascular Surgery - Remote to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space. This role will provide clinical leadership for utilization and claims review activities with a focus on vascular surgery, ensuring decisions are grounded in medical necessity and aligned with applicable standards. The position partners with reviewing clinicians, treating providers, and internal teams to support accurate case evaluation, regulatory compliance, and high-quality clinical decision-making. This is a remote opportunity with broad visibility across clinical operations and performance processes. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $248,500 – $373,000 annually Responsibilities Review surgical and professional claims for correct coding using clinical records Participate in training related to regulatory compliance and departmental specifics Engage with treating providers telephonically for case discussions Participate in clinical conferences and internal performance reviews Draft clinical summaries for medical necessity decisions as necessary Ensure compliance with standards from regulatory agencies, such as CMS and NCQA Provide clinical support for initial review staff Qualifications MD or DO with an unrestricted medical license Current board certification in Vascular Surgery through ABMS or AOA 5+ years of clinical experience post residency Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Benefits Work remotely from anywhere in the U.S. Comprehensive benefits package Incentive and recognition programs Equity stock purchase options 401(k) contribution plan Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
