About the role

The Medical Director of Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant/Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation will lead the transplant program at Nemours Children's Health, a leading nonprofit pediatric health system serving over 250,000 patients annually in Delaware and Florida. The role is rooted in the 70-year legacy of Alfred I. duPont and is committed to improving children's lives and preventing challenging childhood conditions through exceptional clinical care, research, advocacy, and community initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the bone marrow transplant/hematopoietic cell transplantation program
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care for patients undergoing transplant procedures
  • Conduct research to advance knowledge in the field of bone marrow and hematopoietic cell transplantation
  • Engage in national and local advocacy efforts to improve access to quality care for children with blood disorders
  • Provide mentorship and training to medical staff and fellows
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree with board certification in Hematology/Oncology
  • Experience in pediatric hematology/oncology and bone marrow/hematopoietic cell transplantation
  • Leadership skills and ability to manage a complex healthcare program
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
  • Board certified in Hematology/Oncology
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in pediatric hematology/oncology and bone marrow/hematopoietic cell transplantation
  • Experience in managing a transplant program
  • Strong leadership and management skills
