Medical Director of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine

About the role

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Rutgers RWJMS, in conjunction with Rutgers Health, invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital-Hamilton.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical direction, ensuring laboratory oversight
• Validate tests and maintain College of American Pathologists (CAP) accreditation
• Collaborate with physicians, clinicians, and hospital leadership to ensure high-quality laboratory services
• Serve as a subject matter expert and consultant, collaborating closely with physicians and other health care providers
• Lead all anatomic and clinical laboratory operations at RWJUH-Hamilton
• Support strategic planning and operational improvement initiatives for the laboratory

Requirements

• MD, DO, or MBBS degree required
• Board certification or board eligibility in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology
• Eligible for medical licensure in the State of New Jersey
• Experience in laboratory leadership, CAP-accredited laboratories, or relevant subspecialty is highly desirable
