About the role

The Medical Laboratory Director will oversee clinical laboratory operations, participate in hospital committees, teach residents and medical students, and may engage in translational or clinical research.

Responsibilities

• Oversight of clinical laboratory operations

• Engagement in translational or clinical research

Requirements

• Board certified in CP or AP/CP
• Established expertise in laboratory management
• Training and/or experience in Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine and/or Clinical Chemistry (desirable)

Qualifications

• New York State Certificates of Qualification for Medical Directorship required
• Academic appointment to the Albert Einstein College of Medicine commensurate with credentials and experience

Skills

• Strong leadership skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience in laboratory management
• Knowledge of Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine and/or Clinical Chemistry (desirable)

Pay

Annual salary is in the range of $250,000-$375,000 and is dependent on years of experience, including previous leadership roles.

Schedule

Scheduled hours vary and are determined based on the needs of the department.
